Earth Rhythm Band

Greetings Everyone. My name is Walter St. Clair. I have been playing my original roots reggae style for the last 30 years. After San Diego Bands, and touring around from '95-'98, I moved to southwest Colorado to raise my son as a single Dad. Concurrently, I started my own painting business and subsequently, with the immense help and support of my awesome parents, found land and built myself a small starter home. As home build finished, my son went to live with his mom and half brother. I focused on making mortgage payments and establishing my construction contacts. Simultaneously, I continued to learn digital recording, work all I could in the studio to grow as a musician and songwriter, and eventually get here, to share all I've been doing with YOU.

Through all those days, I have never wavered from the Honor Earth patch I sewed on the guitar strap of my 1976 Les Paul Custom, with which I played live and recorded with since 1993. I have been playing Earth Music my whole musical life. Evolved from the genre of roots reggae, the slower tempos and multi faceted instrumentation of songs were crucial to my foundation and stylings of my original music. I never wanted to sound like or copy any of my mentors, but somehow pay respects to all of them by twinkling a little of their influences forward to the listeners again.

While musically doing this, the lyrics had to speak the truths that my education was bringing into my life. Studying World religions, biology, geology, chemistry, human evolution, history and human psychology. Reasoning with professors about the realities of evolution, religion and the timeline of humanity. 

Earth Music are songs of these truths. Earth music are love songs too, because love is a human word, and humans are of the Earth. Earth music are emotional songs, because humans emote. Earth music encompasses all history, of all peoples and all animals.  From the oceans to dinosaurs until now and every age in between. Neanderthals to homo sapiens, Assyrians to Babylonians, Egyptians to Kush peoples to Grecians to Romans. Polytheism to Monotheism. 

Being educated in all these principles is something to be shared. The sciences and their people want music that resonates with them. Resonates with Earth and it’s history and truths. Earth music is the story of Earth and humanity on Earth.  Earth Rhythm Band is the vehicle of my songs, and contributing a pleasurable uplifting honest listening experience to you is my small business. If you feel a love and connection with Earth, hopefully you will feel a connection with some of these songs.
